Sounds like a silly topic, on the one hand, but I was trying to say something similar of my efforts to yield to this in a post here not too long ago.

Just one quote from the symposium stood out to me:

"that 'a great deal of modern art sets out to be crude and shocking, even ugly.'"

He wasn't talking about children's cartoons on TV ... probably ... but have you noticed how ugly cartoons are? The images as well as the voices.
